here is my attempt at an anology- please don't start thinking that I am trying to be too deep or anything, I don't think I am all knowing, or super intelligent. I don't like Jazz, or NPR, and I rarely like any form of talk radio. However, I did stumble upon this anology while getting rid of some old clothes the other day.
Friends are like clothes.
Friends are like clothes
Sometimes they go out of style
You wonder why you loved them so much
But now they are just in a big pile
At the bottom of my closet
Or in an old bag
I'll just get some new ones
I don't mean to brag
But I can't dare to part
With the extra special shirts
I remember that stain
That time I fell in the dirt
The sentimental times
The good and the bad
I clothe myself
With the memories I've had.
Sometimes my friends
They come back in style
It don't happen much
But every once in a while
I pull them out of that drawer
That recess that space
I find that I missed them
Or maybe they'd been misplaced
But whatever the reason
I'm glad that they're back
Like a worn pair of jeans
or a great pair of slacks
they just fit, they are comfy
They compliment you well
They hide all your problems
And they'll just never tell
But with time, you change
they clothes stay the same
You tire of keeping them
this wash and wear game
You grow out of them
You don't hate them
They just take up room
so you sweep them out of your life
no need for a broom
Just a really large back
and a trip to goodwill
With new room, for new things
it is no big deal.
So, if you were my friend
And i just threw you out
It didn't mean that you weren't special
You were- no doubt
So don't take it personal
Don't worry, don't fret
Because I cleaned a space in your closet
That's right don't forget.
See- it ended up being just a poem- nothing special- sorta vanilla if you ask me.
Saw Shane and Shane last night at Irving Bible Church- they are so amazing, but that building was hot, hot, hot and humid to boot.
I always have a great time with cody and dumas- they make me laugh so much- it's just joke after joke after joke! (wink)
