My Dad's 70th Birthday Party
Happy Birthday Dad!!!
Just so you know I am posting this just a couple hours after the party finished- a Posted Note first.
Sitting on Cody Miller's couch watching Die Hard 2 on channel 27 I am drained from creating a 97 slide 110 picture slide show. This had to be the best party for a 70 year old I have ever been to. Let's see, we had mexican food catered and served by nifty people in white shirts and black ties. We surprised my dad by telling him that my sister Dena was winning the Citizen of the Year award- very plausible since she lives in Sanger and she probably is one of the best Citizen's.
My sister Precious owns her own professional Karaoke equipment, and yes, we broke it out and sang some karaoke. Of course I performed my Michael Jackson routine - will it ever get old? Will I still be doing this dance when I am 40? Probably.
My step sister Debbie showed up with two cakes. One said Happy Birthday, the other said, Aged to Perfection- both were decorated for Thanksgiving for some reason, apparently Cosco thought we were celebrating the birth of Thanksgiving a few weeks early. The cakes were delicious. One had chocolate mousse in the center and the other had cream cheese mousse in the center- can you say delish? I knew you could.
I set the slide show to three songs. 100 Years by Five for Fighting, You Raise Me Up - Josh Groban, and Remember When - Alan Jackson. I was sitting next to my dad and he was balling and so was I- it was a VERY emotional day for me. I cried again when my mom sang a song to my dad acapella. My mom has this beautiful voice that is always filled with so much sincerity and emotion it always makes me tear up.
Tomorrow is my parents 25 year anniversary. I added a few bonus slides in the slide show for the two of them. My parents got married when they were 23 and 43. They are still ridiculously in love and are quite possibly the best parents on the planet. I am CRAZY about them.
My Aunt Debbie showed up and scored major relative points. She brought my cousin Della and Della has the cutest little girl- her name is Alexis but we call her Lexy, she's beautiful and well behaved for 17 months and she has the most wonderful smile. I just love her.
I will have some pictures to post here this week - some good ones of my dad that are 50+ years old - they are awesome.
Cody's house is the best, and I am loving Cody's new laptop, he made a good buy.
