The Village

I watched "The Village" with my parents while my mom was recuperating from back surgey. It was enjoyable. I like movies that aren't mainstream, boy meets girl, super action hero, or fantasy.

The best part of the movie, and maybe it is the best part to me because I am a big romantic, and maybe just a bit of a girl when it comes to lines like this but, this one was so poignant, so real, that I just had to stop for a minute to absorb what Edward Walker said when he was talking about his blind daughter going through the forest to get some medicine for the dying man that she loved(Joacquin Phoenix).

"She is more capable than most in this village. And she is led by love. The world moves for love. It kneels before it in awe."

Love Conquers All.

The Village was interesting. Different. If you saw it, let me know what you thought.

Eddie - I really liked The Village, not because it was scary or suspensfull (somewhat predictable instead but hey I was going to be entertained). I liked the idea that it showed. And I hate to ruin it for everyone who hasn't seen it so I will withold the rest of my comments because it would give the ending away. I really did like the visual that whenever you say the blind daughter and she needed someone to help her Joaquin's character always seemed to be there to hold her hand, and somehow she knew he would be, she expected him to take her hand and lead her to safety. And then in one horrible instance his hand wasn't there and she knew that since it wasn't then something was terribly wrong. It says alot about what we know even if we cannot see.

Please tell me what this movie is about! I don't want to see it because it looks scary...I know, I know. It's not scary. Maybe to you, but I have a very sensitive psyche and a lot of things get stuck in my mind, then I can never get them out, and I can't sleep. We don't want that, now do we?
So just tell me what this movie is all about. I promise I won't see it. =)
