A New Relationship

"Where have you been?"

"Walmart, Target, sometimes 7-11"

"I was just there - I didn't see you at those places"

"Maybe you weren't looking in the right place?"

"Don't sass me, you have no right to sass me, I don't deserve this, I am a MAN and you will treat me like one!"

"I am not sassing you, I am just stating the facts"

"Well for the last 29 years I have needed you and suddenly I find you and now I can't live without you"

"You are always so dramatic, why are you always SO DRAMATIC"

"What I am is
REAL, a little emotional at times, but real nonetheless. People don't always get me, but I expected you to."

"I am just a copper scrubber, how am I supposed to get you? You need to
get a life."

"Oh, just for that I am going to stuff your face in a huge pot of dirty soapy water and when I am done with you I am going to leave you filled with bits and pieces of scrambled eggs and bacon and you can just sit there on the counter until I get home from work - how do you like that?"

"Um, you dim wit, that is what I am supposed to do, I freakin' live for that sort of thing"

"Is that so? Well then I am going to put you in the drawer and never use you again then!"

"Yeah right, you need me, now that you have found me you can't live without me."

"Now look who is being dramatic, you big drama queen, we'll just see who needs who more."

And that is pretty much how dish washing went last night. I couldn't believe how handy those copper scrubbers could be for scrubbing away tough grime on a dirty pan. I burned some onions in a pan and let the pan soak for days scrubbing away every day using a green scrubber and finally I gave up - I actually considered throwing the pan away! Then I found the copper scrubber - I now thank God for the copper scrubber every day -
EVERY DAY.

Seriously - to throw away a good pan over not having a good scrubber - unforgivable...
So glad you found out about its 'power'...I did my dishes last night, too!

I have almost thrown away a pot before. One time I was scrubbing so hard the sponge fell apart in my hands.

I have thrown away tupperware because it was too dirty to clean or I was too lazy or too scared to clean it.

Right now in my refrigerator there is a gallon of milk that I am sure has turned into cheese. Every time I see it I think, "I need to throw that away." but I don't want to put it in the garbage can and I don't want to pour it down the sink and so I just procrastinate and think, "I will just take it to the dumpster when it gets dark" but then I forget.

you thank God every day for the copper scrubbers? can they be used on non-stick surfaces?

also, you make them infested with eggs and bacon? isn't that gross to you? i mean, that means that the next time you wash a dish, you're wiping eggs and bacon all over it. i just don't get that.

also, i have an irrational fear of sticking my hands in dirty water. it makes me crazy to find dishes soaking in a sink. a sink full of dirty, floating food-particle water. roger does this often, and i refuse to go near it. i absolutely refuse.

My favorite friend is the SOS pad. I would be lost without it.

Also, FYI, those plastic bread closer things make great scrubbers when you just don't ahve anything else. They work great!!

Simple pleasures. E-spouse is addicted to the soft plastic scraper--wonderful for dried-on food bits on pans and pots.

BTW, all readers of PN. Be prepared to be blown away soon by Eddo's design of my website. I take full responsibility for the decrease in the number of his posts--but the result will be worth it!

EM - glad you said it so I didn't have to!

Yes beloved readers, normally I would be devouring your words on your websites and leaving hilarious comments full of wit and/or vinegar.

I have been inundated on the AFG project, but it has been fun and I have been in the design zone lately which is awesome as I have about 5 projects in the works.

I guess I should step up to the plate and take partial responsibilty for keeping Eddo from his witty comebacks, as he is designing a web site for me also. But I'm so EXCITED!! Can't wait to see it.

have I said thank you?? THANK YOU!

Ahh the simple joys of household cleaners that can make your life a little easier...

I just love the new disposable toilet scrubbers. I was always grossed out by the ones we used before that you kept. I mean, you flush anything that goes in the toilet bowl, you know? Why save the brush??? Blech.

About tupperware, I've thrown away perfectly good sets because of tomato sauce stains that just won't go away. I don't even think a copper scrubber could handle that job! The big question is, why don't I just throw away 10 cents worth of leftover spaghetti and meatballs instead of destroying a $4 tupperware container? I don't get this!

Eddo, I am your mother and I am just now realizing you talk to inanimate objects. Did I fail somewhere? Why do you have these conversations? Is there some mental illness in our family? My chore girl has never talked to me, perhaps I buy a different brand! lol

I hearby officially withdraw my entry from the Posted Note "Lodge Contest" (How many of you remembered the title of the contest?)

I am not withdrawing from the contest because I was not going to win... but because next week I will be traveling to Jellico Tennessee on a mission trip. A group of us from my church and world servants are traveling to that area to serve people by repairing houses and sharing God's Love with those who do not have enough to make ends meet. So you have one less "fierce" competitor to contend with... I am excited for whom ever wins... I will tune in on August 1st to see who has won. (And just to prove that I was going to win... for those of you being lulled to sleep... Bear River just appeared.)

Ben, Ummm... bear river has been there since day 1. I hope that was a little joke, probably was.

About winning, did you really think you had a chance of beating the ever obsessive compulive Jes? And don't even get me started about KT of K-Pinion. Even though they are both close friends neither of them has tried to get inside help or information, they plan on winning legitimately, but you should have heard them discussing their strategies.

Jes actually stared KT down and said, "You have no idea, You have no idea how bad I am going to win this contest, I am going to destroy you!"

It was a little scary.

I was serious about bear river... but after going back and checking my saved mastheads jpegs of EVERY SINGLE DAY... you are right. Kind of like looking at a correctly spelled work too long thinking that it looks strange and that there is somehow an error when there really isn't. I was SO going to win this competition.
