Terrorists in London

"LONDON, England (CNN) -- Four explosions in London's transport system have killed at least two people and wounded dozens more in what UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said was an apparent terrorist attack."

This morning as I was getting dressed and I heard this on the radio. I immediately stopped getting dressed and just listened for a moment. I remember when I was young and the World Trade Center was bombed. I didn't fully understand what was happening and it wasn't until 911 that I fully grasped the reality of a terrorist attack.

I am not a political strategist or analyst. I rarely keep up with governmental politics and I pretty much live in my own myopic world filled with air-conditioning, cell phones, reality tv, and take-out and so I don't really understand what terrorists have to gain from lashing out at strangers. I know it is to bring attention to themselves, I know it is intended to cause shock and awe, but in the end what have they gained? What is the benefit?

All I know is that it is very maddening and sad.

My heart goes out to all the people in London, if you are the praying type, then say some prayers for them and for the world as a whole.

G'morning to you.

There is no beneift Ed - these terrorists think they get a bunch of virgins when they sacrifice themselves like that. Imagine in the after life...you think you are going to a big orgie in your name and boom, God walks in and handed over to your consequence.

All for nothing. Sad though...they never know real love. Def. praying for the enemy and the hurt alike.

side note: you have a special/sweet mom.

As I watched Tony Blair and the other leaders from most of the free world stand 'unified' as Mr.Blair made his final comments before leaving to head back to London...all I could do was cry. Not a hopeless cry, just a cry that I think echoes God's heartcry for His people. It is sad and it's amidst this sadness that we must attempt to shine His light to show the way. Hope you're shining today Eddo :)

I am praying for them as well. It is so devastating to hear that on the news.

My friends Dave & Kate live there. Please pray for their safety.

I'm heartbroken--and posted about this as well. And just as London was having celebrating. Alright, now I'm getting angry, damn it!

There's nothing that could possibly explain this kind of behavior, and it hurts me tremendously. How can people get away with this? Mostly, I feel sadness, but there's a little anger - what can we do to stop this? How can we bring peace to all parts of the world?

Nicely said. I've also commented on this story this morning. I wasn't near as calm and rational as you though. Mine was out of anger.

this seems a prevelant topic on the Internet this morning. i hate what has happened.

i hate the suffering that people are forced to experience because of this attack.

i hate that terrorist groups are convinced that this is God's will.

i hate that ANYONE finds it necessary to exercise their voice in this manner.

i hate what has happened in London.

Eddo, I agree with you, I agree with all of the comments left on this page. I am a 21 year old, active duty Navy corpsman and it hurts me to see what these terrorists are doing to innocent lives. I've seen victims of the war, and its never easy to see or even know the hurt they are going through. I really thought the terrorists were calming down, realizing they were being defeated, but apparently, they will continue these attacks. I would like to ask everyone to pray for the victims- in London and also around the world. Please pray for them and their families, and the soldiers out there dying to protect others from going through this. America will overcome them. God will judge them in the end. God Bless...
