Texas Weather
Yesterday was so hot that I got a sunburn walking from my car into my office building after lunch. It literally felt like a gas burner was turned on high and was hovering inches over body. My car thermometer read 106 degrees, but to me it felt hotter. It was so hot that I was reminded of those people melting in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when they opened the Ark of the Covenant. I was roasting like corn on the cob at the State Fair...
And now this morning I had the heater on in the car.
It was 62 degrees on the way in to work this morning. Now that might not seem all that cool, but when your body is used to 106, then 62 is practically freezing. It was so cool that I had to warm myself up with an egg mcmuffin from McDonalds.
And speaking of McDonalds - I have eaten there 4 times this month - 4 TIMES! What? I haven't eaten at McDonalds 4 times in the last 4 years - I think of it as trash food, but I read this article about how the Egg McMuffin was not a bad breakfast option and so I have been eating them again. Ugh.
So today it is nice and cool here in Texas and I am really looking forward to Fall and patio dining, and barbecues, and evening coffee, and cozy sweaters, and most of all - snuggling.

Oh I LOVE fall! Long sleeves, cookouts, bonfires, crispy weather, and of course, all the fall smells: cinnamon apples, pumpkins, nutmeg. LOVE fall!
So where would one find this evidence of egg McMuffins being good for us? Because if that's the case, I should go right now and get my nourishment! (McD's breakfast is a weakness. That's why I never go. When I do, I get thier salads.)
Oh and by the way Eddo: I'll trade you weather. While I love the "crispiness" of fall, it went from summer to winter overnight. I walked out of my house this morning, and it was - no joke - 40 degrees outside. I'm getting cold again just thinking about it.
Eddie - I am with you and the crazy weather change. I LOVE fall and winter so I am ready for the cool weather but it was a shock to go from sweating to shivering.
mm-warm weather
mmm-corn on the cob
mmm-mcmuffins
mmm-barbques
mmm-snuggling
i'm in close agreement!! :-)
OKAY... since you ALL are avoiding the question... and Eddie's been dropping hints... I will bite.
SNUGGLING WITH WHO?? WHO IS THIS WOMAN YOU MET LAST WEEKEND THAT HAS GOTTEN YOU "SMITTEN"... THINKING ABOUT "SNUGGLING".
We must know.
Copy Cat. Although your post was much, much better than mine.
Ugh, McDonalds breakfast. Chick-fil-a all the way.
And I do love fall, can't it get here gradually???? I guess not.
fnrjbdat - funner: job or date?
Quoting Brittany Murphy from the 2001 movie Don't Say a Word - "I'll never tell..."
The problem with me is that I always get really excited about a first date, I blog about it, I tell all my friends, and then 1 date later it's over and everyone is let down.
Yeah, I have a date this weekend, with who I won't say. So far I think she is amazing, but will she reciprocate those feelings? Who knows, I won't delude myself this time like I have in the past. Hopefully, she allows me more than one date so that I can try to win her over, it normally takes at least 3 dates for me to grow on you.
EDDIE you have a DATE??????
Hello, and why did you not pass this information on?
Have fun. You're a great guy and I KNOW she will see that.
FUN TIMES.
Eddo, somehow I don't think you have to grow on her like fungus. You are a great guy and if she can't see that then it's her loss. Enjoy the first date/I have a crush feeling - it's one of the best (and I miss it).
I love warm days and cool nights. We're going to get rain for the next week but then it should be 70 during the day and 50 at night. Gotta love the NW.
eddie! a date! hooray!!!
also, is she aware that her life will soon be on the Internet? because, possibly, if you guys stay together, we'll want to hear all about her.
Jes, my policy when dating is to be very selective about what I post on the site. If things go well, then I will give updates, but I don't want anyone I date to live in fear of being exposed online all the time.
Good policy Eddo.
Eeew...McDonalds?!! Have you seen Supersize me?? If not, you must. You won't ever want McDonalds. It worked for me!
I would've loved to wake up to 62! I had to wear my mittens on my walk this morning!!
The leaves are gorgeous right now though, we have that going for us!
We're still waiting for fall here in Florida. At least the mornings are down to 73 or so from around 80 in the summer.
