Blog Jacket
Okay, I got so much good feedback from the Blogjacket design that I decided to run with it.
Here is a rough draft.

Do you like the design across the top of the page?
Is the main body font too dark or does it just look understated? I am going for classic understated.
Can you tell me how it looks in your browser? Right now I only have IE since my computer crashed last month.

I think it looks terrific Eddo. Very classy. :o)
eddo I like it, but if you are going for understaded removing the design at the top of the page will allow the eye to focus on the main box. Just a suggestion. It looks great, very retro-modern (and yes I know that is an oxymoron)
i like the overall design. i think the main (dark) font is neither understated nor overstated, and i particularly like that you used the pale yellow for the links (hosting, portfolio, etc.)
The top design doesn't really "match" the background of the main design, but still, it works. I think this is because of all the angles incorporated in the overall design. I think that without it, the page would look oddly bare, but I reserve the right to change my opinion if I see it without the top design.
Lastly, I love the colors you chose. Very hip.
oh, and one more thing. i'm not sure how i feel about the paragraph at the bottom. i think SOMETHING should be down there, but I don't really know what. were you planning on leaving this exact text?
maybe try creating a bulleted list of services that Blog Jacket offers?
Oooh! Eddo, I really LOVE it! If I could get a framed picture that looked something like that, it'd go right up on my walls!
Nice work!
I like it! :)
I think what is bothering me is its top heavy. Either remove the border at the top or center it and add it to the bottom..... although I don't think I will like that.... hmmmmm I say no bordr although I like the border for what it is.
Beyond that I think iot looks good
Your banner background (the whirly swirly thing) doesn't sit well with 'classic understated'. The text colours are lovely, but the graphic feels like putting a Wurlitzer in a gentlemen's club drawing room.
I think it looks good even though I am not a big fan of brown.
Wonderful, Eddo.
The margins are a bit too wide, but otherwise, it's great.
see, i disagree. i like that it is top heavy. it's different. it doesn't look like every other site out there that is perfectly measured and centered.
It is tight. And I am using Mozilla.
I'm also using Mozilla/Firefox. Is it supposed to be missing the right blue sidebar border on the top table? Other than that it looks great to me!
Cropped screenshot. It looks better than this but I saved it as a jpg and it washed away the color, whoops! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v382/crstna/eddo.jpg
at work, the image was near the top (i have a 19" at work). but at home (i have a 17" at home) the design was vertically centered, reaching from the top of the screen down to the bottom.
I think is looks great!
How could you make something that is not?
It looks the same using IE or Firefox. I'm not a big fan of brown; but that's simply a personal choice. I think the design is great, though. It fits what you're trying to accomplish.
I love it, classy and very up to date if you ask me!!
That is very cool. Fits my sense of style, which is impeccable, of course.
