My Super Sweet Sixteen - SNL Parody
Okay, now you don't have to read my lame attempt at a recap - Biggy found the video and so you can watch it here. Thanks Biggy!
Scarlett Johansen: Mom that was so stupid, you have to give me a thousand dollars!
Scarlett's Mom (aside): Yeah, my daughter and I made a deal, and every time I say something stupid, I have to give her a thousand dollars. Which is totally okay because she is so cool.
Scarlett Johansen: Dad, Why can't you get Shakira to wrestle an Alligator??!?!?!! UGH! This party is worse than the Holocaust!!
Scarlett's Dad (aside): I had to take out a third mortgage and work three jobs and sell a kidney to give my daughter this party, and I would do it all over again!
This was possibly the best SNL sketch I have seen in the last 10 years. Scarlett Johansen is wickedly beautiful and she had me rolling with her portrayal of a sixteen year old spoiled brat.
My Super Sweet Sixteen is ridiculous. Perhaps MTV slants the show to make the kids look like little demons, but I think that it isn't MTV's editing of the show - I think the kids are really horrible. The funny thing is, every single episode that I have seen, the spoiled birthday boy or gilr always ends up crying or getting sick at their own party. Something always goes wrong and inside I applaud just a little at the poetic justice of it all.
Also, if you want to see the ManiAAC's perform with Cash Sirois fromChannel 5 News, you can see it here. (Click on the link on the right hand side of the page)

That's hilarious. I would have loved to have seen that! Stinkin' little brats! My children will NEVER act like that!
I love Scarlett Johnasen. Ever see "In Good Company"? She's great in that!
i will admit it: i'm addicted! i love watching my super sweet 16. i still have a favorite: the two girls from last season who had a party together. one of them was so mature - i liked her a lot.
and then there was another episode where an Indian girl who FLEW TO PARIS to find a dress for her party. except she couldn't find one, so she went home emptihanded and had one specially designed for her. it ended up being a really pretty dress, but still! $10,000 for a dress? WHAT.EVER.
I can't believe that some parents ACTUALLY do that.... Sounds like a hilarious take on it.
So sad yet so true. I watched that once and felt dumber by a few IQ points afterwards.
Well, hi there! This is "off topic" but, oh well.... :) I am 32, cute and also a Christian, from Canada....BUT I lived in Texas for 6 months while going to YWAM (Youth With a Mission), and actually visited Plano, during our outreach! Too bad I didn't know you then. I LOVE Texas and would go back anytime for a visit! Not sure if you are on MSN messenger, but if so, fel free to add me....barbschellenberg@hotmail.com
eddie, were you just hit on? and, can we ALL add barb? and, how do we know that "barb" really left that message, and not a newly created alter ego like, let's say, SO FREAKIN' HOT??
Well I must agree with Reverand...I always feel dumber after watching that show, yet while I am watching it I cannot change the channel and hate myself later for it! Ugh!
I missed that SNL but heard it was hilarious! Thanks for the recap. :)
I've never heard of the show before so I'm kinda lost but it sounds funny. I watched the clip, it just reinforces the idea that your gut is quasi-famous.
I've been to the YWAM office before. So has CAT. >:)
LOL. lets see if that was last week's SNL then I should be able to watch it this week on saturday.. must see this skit! (Sad that I have to wait to see EVERYTHING! Well everything that we get which isn't much)
HAHAHAHA...
Sweet 16
My kids gets a party at our house. If they complain, they get to pay for it.
Only saw part of SNL that night but it sounds funny. Too bad I missed the rest.
The only thing better was that Rich Girls show with the daughter of Tommy Hilfigger and some other brod. Holy cow, money doesn't necessarily make you smarter.
I just watched an episode of My Super Sweet 16 yesterday, and I was so disgusted. Especially after hearing that the party cost the parents $180,000!! And immediately following that, I watched on the news as a mother and father in Pakistan mourned their 18 month old daughter who died 2 hours earlier from the cold. They are living in tents, with no protection underneath them from the frozen earth, and their clothes are all wet. But, yeah, a 16 year old BRAT deserves a party of the century.
I laughed so hard at the Scarlett sketch. Hopefully some of the former "guests" of the original show will see how ridiculous they are, and maybe give some of themselves to people that need it.
A person just can't help but be addicted to MTV, I am convinced. Especially with such wonderful shows as sweet 16, Rich Girls, Made, etc, etc. I was wondering how much of that SNL you got to see..I got to see Death Cab perform TWICE. :)
Yes, YWAM, thanks sis. >:)
