Rolling Stones?
More like Rolling Bones...
Why did the half-time of the Super Bowl have to feature the Rolling Stones?
If I wanted to see the Crypt Keeper I would have watched reruns of Tales from the Crypt. And was that Frankenstein on the drums or a zombie from Night of the Living Dead? I don't mean to hate, the Stones are a classic group, but come on - enough already! The Superbowl should have gotten U2 and Mary J. Blige to perform. Did you see them last night on the Grammy's? THEY TORE. IT. UP!
And speaking of the Grammy's...
Kanye West didn't win - again - but he was up against some stiff competition - U2 - who ended up winning about 9000 Grammy's last night for their album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
Did you see Christina Aguilera? She looked MUCH better (less dirt more shirt) and she sang beautifully while Herbie Hancock played the piano - now that is classy.
And I know everyone loves to hate on Mariah Carey, but that girl can blow! She set it off with We belong together and then ended with some new song I have never heard. Did you know she can sing in 7 octaves? Did you know that her mother is an Opera singer? Did you know that she once asked me out on a date and I turned her down because I was going through the Program at Denton Bible Church where we are not allowed to date. Yeah, I bet you didn't know that.
Also, did you catch Kelly Clarkson's performance of Because of You? She is like a slice of heavenly bread with angel butter - her singing is just delicious, and so is she.
I also enjoyed the country performance by Sugarland - despite the fact that the microphone kept messing up, they still rocked it and that lead singer woman is hot. She is sexy and seasoned and I am not sure if I have said it in the past but I will say it now - I have always had a thing for older women - just call me Ashton Kutcher...

Please ignore my post today. You won't be able to understand it.
Rolling Bones. That's hilarious. They are WAY past their prime. I read that they didn't want anyone over 35 or something in their stage audience at the Super Bowl. "In the tongue" if you will. And then I saw a picture of their drummer in that purple shirt and I was like "huh?" Right out of the geriatic ward.
I can still hear Chris Farley saying "Herbie Hancock".
Ashton it is.
"She is like a slice of heavenly bread with angel butter - her singing is just delicious, and so is she." -- Eddo, you are hysterical. I love your descriptions.
And are you yankin' our chain on the whole Mariah Carey deal? If not, I want details, man! DEEEEtails!
Slow your roll, Ashton. LOL.Hey, how do you get your song clips? I am trying to find a song Ben posted about yesterday by Mercy Me. Do you know the one?
Dawn, I am totally yanking everyone's chain - I lie alot, it makes the post more fun - I was doing it way before James Frey was doing it - but I know I am not the first.
the stones pretty much broke my heart on sunday night. but, faithul fan that i am, i blame the sound system. they can still rock, i just know it.
and if you want to see the crypt keeper, you should really look up yes. steve howe always looked a little weird, but the resemblance is amazing.
and alright, i have to admit that kelly was pretty good, even though i'm more than a little bitter that she beat sir paul for album of the year. :)
"She is like a slice of heavenly bread with angel butter - her singing is just delicious, and so is she."
That's freakin HILARIOUS... although I don't have a clue of what "angel butter" is.
"smart cars" and "angel butter"... are these things just in Texas?
"Bless your heart..."
You don't have to patronize me.
lol.
WE have snow.
Thanks Ben and Dawn for the props on my simile.
AM, I don't know what you are referencing with the Chris Farley thing...
I answered Faith in an email, but I use www.mp3spy.ru to get some of my music, normally I get it through iTunes, but the .ru site is so cheap, just 10 cents a song and I normally only download songs that I haven't ever heard or think that I might not like and so it is perfect as a way of trying things out.
HM... commenting before Eddie again...
How come you are so slow Eddie?
And yes Ben, Angel butter is only in Texas. You poor guys up in Minnesota don't have anything cool do you? Bless your heart.
did anyone else notice that they started playing mariah when U2 won one of their gazillion awards, it made me laugh, lots of glitches on the grammys
Herbie Hancock, I always think of Chris Farley when I see his name too
ha ha... I am glad you caught my patronage!
You say, "we have snow" like that is a good thing - we have warm 70 degree days in the middle of January - I'll take that anyday over a bunch of snow. PUH-LEASE.
Snow in Texas is one day of excitement followed by hours and hours of misery.
It's snowing here... I enjoy snow... so I don't think I would like Texas.
hrmpf. After about 1 month you wouldn't even miss that snow, you will wonder how you ever could stand it. And your kids would have lots of new aunts and uncles - and you and Syd would have lots of free babysitters. Now isn't that a bonus?
I love Kanye. O well...
And yes, as far as I'm concerned it was a comedown for the Stones to play the Supper Bowl. I mean, they used to be hard-core rockers.
Maybe it's just me, but I think old rockers should move over and let the young guys get over.
it's snowing in Minnesssooooootttttaaaa? That's it, I'm moving.
Hey Eddo, I havent' stopped by in a while and wouldn't you know it I dropped in on a day where I have to agree to disagree with your thoughs on the Stones and the Grammys. I thought the Stones were great but Mary J bugged me really bad in that duet with Bono. Nothing against her personally.
I did my own review over at my blog.
Ha Ha. Edgy Mama said Supper Bowl. That's what it was for me. An excuse to eat alot of hot wings, pizza rolls and chips & guac.
Eddo, I missed the awards last night but Kanye won 3 - they were all in Rap. Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album.
i know! the rolling stones! he was totally gyrating all over the stage, and EWWW!
"less dirt/more shirt" - very cute! ;o)
I wasn't impressed with the stones, either. I guess they're picking old people for SuperBowl halftimes now, on the premise there'll be no 'wardrobe malfunctions'.
The Grammy's were hot. I'm so friggin proud of Mariah for actually doing a decent job. Usually it's "her mic" or "she's sick"...I don't usually buy it, but apparently she got her stuff together.
Kanye is a pimp. His performance was awesome.
I totally missed the U2 and MJB performance. Must've been switching between that an AI.
Anyways, nice blog. I read a couple of your entries and they're intriguing to say the least.
Be easy.
La
I didn't get to see the Grammys last night, but I did see U2 live in concert.
Hahahaha Katie, I totally noticed that too! Sooo funny!
Eddo, I'm completely with you on the Mariah thing. I usually don't enjoy her too much because she kind of drives me crazy what with all her posing and fakety-fake crap she's always trying to hand everyone, but HOLY COW, did she NAIL IT last night!!! I sat there in the kitchen with my jaw on the floor, eyes GLUED to the television during her whole performance.
THAT GIRL CAN SING!!!
And THEN there was Christina: WOW.
I'm with you on pretty much all of your commentary, Eddo. It was a great show last night. Good stuff!
you made me laugh out loud at the Frankenstein comment, how terrible, just remember Eddo you will be older one day! I thought I saw a gray hair the other day, is that why you shaved your head? lol, just jokin!
Hey your gramma is going in the hospital tomorrow, do you think you could go see her with me sometime, she can't get out of bed on her own anymore, she is not doing well.
What a great site
