The Clothes Do Make the Man

Last night I spent $376.00 on 4 pair of pants and they were worth every penny. These particular pants when worn make you feel like a million bucks.

This is my first position where it has been really important that I dress nice and so it is the nicest I have dressed every day in my entire life. What has been interesting is that when I dress nicer, I act better. I stand up straighter. I am more professional and I take better care of myself.

Wearing nice clothes forces me to pay attention to my body. No longer can I wear baggy over-sized clothing to hide my ever-expanding waste line. I can't wear my comfortable jeans and buttery soft t-shirts. Nope. I have to wear my shirt tucked in and my clothes have to be... IRONED. (Okay, they all go to the cleaners)

So now that I am focusing more on my appearance I have started South Beach Diet again... but wait! The cool thing is that my boss and a few other guys at work have all put in money and whoever loses the most weight at the end of 90 days wins 400 dollars. So now I have multiple incentives working in my favor and I am planning on destroying the other's in the competition.

This is only day 2 so we'll see how it goes.

What diets work the best for you? (Amstaff I am not doing the Master Cleanser!! Too Hard!)

What is your goal weight? And are they doing the most pounds lost, or the most body percentage lost?

I was just telling Roger last night that I want to lose weight, I'm totally motivated to lose weight, but I LACK THE DISCIPLINE to do anything about it.

Sad.

It is percentage based - which is only fair since if I lose 10% of my body weight then I will lose 35 pounds where my boss will lost about 20 pounds. However, I think it will be easier for me to lose 35 since I really need to lost about 70. My goal weight is 280 and right now I weigh almost 350.

hmmm for me it was a change in eating habits, it's amazing how much portion control and being choosy about what you eat can change your weight

I have lost 15 lbs in the last 2 months. I go to work and have a Package of Pop tarts. 300 calories... I then have a Quaker oat chewy granola bar at 11 - 120 calories. At noon, I go and run 3 - 5 miles (Started out with running a mile) and then after my work out, I have a Nature's Valley Granola bar - 140 calories... and then I go home and eat a normal dinner, no seconds... cut out coke products... drink water and have popcorn if I am hungry at night. Working great!

The Key is excercise though.

I heard losing weight is 20% diet and 80% excercise. I think I agree with that.

Ok, Ok, so what about some Smooth Move tea for a week? eh? Still no takers?

Yeah, me neither. I wish it wasn't so dang hot out there and I'd go running. Well maybe. It has to be primo conditions. I want to start running again. Faster Trot time this time!

Eddo, in order to win I think you need to be evil. Buy a huge bunch of hot chips and be really "sharing". Leave tim-tams and Pods and other munchies on your co-workers' desks.
