Live Free… or Die Hard

Of the four, this one is by far the best.  It’s the same story every time, but this one is actually pretty cool if you are into geeky programming and if you are the least bit “techy”.

I don’t really consider myself much of a geek. I love computers, I can work my way around most things electronic, but I’m not a gadget freak or a techno-genius, but I do understand most geek speak and I can appreciate a movie that pushes the limits of what is possible to do with technology and the human body all at the same time. Live Free or Die Hard does just that.

Bruce Willis, he’s 52 now, still kicks butt and makes jumping off of planes and automobiles seem effortless – something that my 31 year old knees cannot do and I don’t really have knee issues, I just know better than to be jumping off of cars and planes or else I will have knee issues.

I saw the movie at Denton Movie Tavern and was delighted with the excellent qaulity of the food. I had some excellent chicken quesadillas that were better than many of the quesadillas that I’ve had at a number of Mexican food chain restaurants. I also indulged and had some southwestern egg rolls. I had played Ultimate Frisbee earlier in the day and then mowed the Cribbies lawn and so I was ravenous by dinner time.

So if you don’t have any plans for the 4th of July – go check out Live Free or Die Hard – you’ll be glad you did!

Spider Man 3

With Green Goblin, Sandman, Bad Spidey, and Venom all rolled into one movie how could this thing not be a hit? It can’t! I loved this movie.

I was going to work early Friday mrning and this guy called in to the radio station and said that he didn’t like Spiderman 3 and that it was the worst of the 3 films. At nearly two and a half hours long Spiderman could easily drag, but for me it didn’t. I was never bored, I was never in a hurry for the next big action sequence, the movie just kept delivering. I’d say the only role that was a little tiring.

Overall it is worth seeing and try to see it on DLP it rocks. Oh, and I’d say it is the best of the 3, not the worst, because of the villains.

Blades of Glory

Laughing this much may cause injury…

Last night a friend and I went and checked out Blades of Glory. We both laughed so hard I thought we were going to pass out.  Will Ferrell and John Heder are brilliantly paired in this slap-stick comedy that is a non-stop riot. The great thing about Blades is that Will and John aren’t the only comedic duo, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have multiple parts that will leave you hunched over and gripping your stomach from laughter pains.

Amy is from SNL and Will is best known as Job from Arrested Development. I suggest going and watching this movie immediately.

Stranger than Fiction

Rarely do I watch movies that are so enjoyable that I’d like to see them again and again. Beautiful movies are like this, bits of poetry, and of course music. Stranger than Fiction is a beautiful movie. Go and rent it and watch it with someone you love – or possibly, someone you might want to love.

Wild Hogs

Yep, it was a movie watching weekend and so if you didn’t see below that I posted about The Number 23 then you might want to read that one as well. Wild Hogs is fun. It is exactly what you expect in a movie with Tim Allen – a lot of cheese with your ham, but I like ham and cheese and so I enjoyed the movie. John Travolta, William H. Macey, Martin Lawrence and Tim Allen are a group of guys that every guy that is aging can relate to. It is funny how as you get older you start to realize that all of us are in the same boat. We grow up and we live the American dream and in the process sometimes we forget to stop and take time really enjoy life. It is the same story that has been told repeatedly but one that always hits home because of its relevance.

Oh, and there is a little bit of male rear nudity and a couple of curse words and so leave your young kiddos at home.
